136th Canton fair is coming

       On Sunday, Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen held a trade symposium for foreign-funded enterprises during the Guangzhou Canton Fair to study the import and export operations of foreign-funded enterprises and listen to their existing problems, opinions and suggestions.
       According to the Ministry of Commerce’s WeChat on Sunday, representatives of foreign-invested enterprises in China, including ExxonMobil, BASF, Anheuser-Busch, Procter & Gamble, FedEx, Panasonic, Walmart, IKEA China and the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China attended the meeting and spoke with a speech.
       In recent years, China has spared no effort in opening up and providing platforms to facilitate global trade, such as the Canton Fair, the China International Import Expo to be held in early November, and the world’s first national supply chain exhibition. The China International Supply Chain Exhibition Chain Expo will be held from November 28 to December 2.
       At the same time, since China’s Belt and Road Initiative was proposed in 2013, unimpeded trade has become an important component and promoted the development of trade cooperation.
       The Canton Fair has achieved fruitful results. The share of buyers from Belt and Road countries increased from 50.4% in 2013 to 58.1% in 2023. The import exhibition attracted more than 2,800 exhibitors from 70 countries along the Belt and Road, accounting for about 60% of the total number of exhibitors at the import exhibition area, the organizer told the Global Times.
       As of Thursday, the number of registered buyers from Belt and Road countries rose 11.2% compared with the spring exhibition. The organizer said the number of Belt and Road buyers is expected to reach 80,000 during the 134th edition.
